World's Largest Office, Surat Diamond Bourse to Opens Doors!
Get ready to witness history in the making as Prime Minister Narendra Modi gears up to unveil the crown jewel of Gujarat - the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) building. On December 17, PM Modi is set to inaugurate the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) building within the sprawling Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City, Gujarat. This architectural marvel, recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest office building, marks a significant milestone in the diamond trading industry. Located in Khajod village near Surat, the SDB building has become the operational base for 135 diamond trading firms. Notably, 26 of these firms have permanently shifted from Mumbai to the SDB, while others have relocated from Surat and different regions of Gujarat, as confirmed by SDB's media convener Jayanti Navadiya. In February 2015, the former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel, presided over the foundation ceremony for the SDB and DREAM City project. Spanning an immense 67 lakh square feet and featuring nine towers encompassing ground plus 15 floors, the SDB accommodates approximately 4,500 diamond trading offices. This architectural feat, part of the Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City, stands as a testament to modern innovation. The building's unique layout, nine interconnected towers with a platinum ranking from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), signifies a remarkable achievement in sustainable design. With invitations extended to 70,000 attendees from across the globe, the inauguration promises to be a grand event. The SDB aims not only to serve as a focal point for diamond trading but also offers a spectrum of facilities, including safe deposit vaults, conference halls, exhibition centers, training facilities, and much more. Embodying progress and sophistication, the Surat Diamond Bourse emerges as a symbol of India's advancement in the global diamond trade landscape, fostering growth and innovation within the industry.
