A Whale in the Sky: Airbus Beluga Leaves Passengers Stunned
The whale-shaped Airbus Beluga left staff and passengers mesmerized when it made a grand appearance at the Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on November 22. CSMIA shared the pics of the magnificent plane on Twitter and it surfaced all over the internet capturing the attention of netizens. The unique shape and large size of the aircraft are what make it stand out as it appears like a whale in the sky. "Airbus Beluga" gets its name from the Beluga whale. The aircraft is very large as it has been designed to transport large and heavy objects like automobiles and components of different space programs. Of late, the airbus is in much demand. The Beluga has a wingspan of about 45 meters and is around six stories tall. Its internal cargo hold is 124 feet long, 23 feet wide, and 23 feet high. Additionally, the aircraft's enormous cabin is almost four times larger than a typical wide-body aircraft. The Airbus A300 B4-608 ST super transporter, known also as Beluga, is a wide-body airliner that has been adapted to carry enormous cargo and aircraft parts. Earlier, the aircraft had generated a lot of excitement and left many people in amazement when it touched down at Kolkata Airport on Sunday, November 20.
