Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Endorsement: A Milestone for Sustainable Fashion Shree Renga Polymers gained prominence when Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore a jacket made from recycled PET bottles presented by them at key international events like sessions in the Indian Parliament and the G7 Summit in Japan. It shows their commitment to incorporating recycled materials into mainstream fashion. The brand resonates strongly with environmentally conscious consumers worldwide. Transforming Waste into Value: The Greenfield Recycling Facility The upcoming greenfield recycling facility is set to be established at Thennilai and Manavasi in Karur. The facility promises to leverage cutting-edge technology to transform waste PET bottles into high-value products such as fibers, yarns, and garments. This expansion is projected to increase the company’s production capacity of Recycled Polyester Staple Fibre (rPSF) by sixfold, reaching an impressive 130 tonnes per day. According to Senthil Sankar, Managing Partner of Shree Renga Polymers, this strategic investment aims not only to meet growing market demand but also to solidify their position as pioneers in sustainable textile manufacturing. The decision to expand comes at a time when global awareness of environmental issues is at an all-time high. Consumers increasingly favor brands that prioritize eco-friendly practices. By integrating PET bottle recycling into their production process, Shree Renga Polymers not only reduces waste but also promotes circular economy principles, where materials are reused and repurposed rather than discarded. Sankar emphasized their aim to demonstrate that sustainable fashion can be accessible and affordable. With nearly 90% of their products priced under $10 and requiring just six PET bottles to create a T-shirt, they are proving that eco-conscious choices need not come at a premium. The expansion project is expected to create approximately 500 new jobs in the region, further contributing to the local economy. This will also reinforce Tamil Nadu’s position as a hub for sustainable industrial growth. The journey towards a greener, more sustainable world begins with innovative initiatives like Shree Renga Polymers’ PET bottle recycling facility.
