In the meantime, five projects totaling Rs 73 crore for Uttar Pradesh were approved by the National Mission for Clean Ganga during its 56th executive committee meeting, which was held in New Delhi, according to an official statement on August 31. The conference was presided over by Rajeev Kumar Mital, Director General of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG)."The approved projects are pivotal to the improvement of the river's ecosystem as these ensure minimised level of pollution in Ganga, thereby maintaining its cleanliness and ensuring its conservation," the statement said. The 'Establishment of Secretariat for Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers (SLCR) at Varanasi' project, which was proposed and overseen by IIT (BHU) under the NMCG's direction, was accepted by the committee, it was reported. The goal of this initiative is to revitalize and modernize all of the nation's small rivers ~ (Source: Google Images) This would be done by utilizing worldwide experience and sustainable techniques. It claimed that it achieves this by striking the proper balance between the economy, the environment, and society at large. As part of the Namami Gange Mission to lessen the pollution of the river, another project on "Faecal Sludge Management for Abatement of Pollution of River Ganga at Dalmau, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh" was approved, according to the release. This project will create a 15 KW solar power plant, one solar inverter, and an eight KLD faecal sludge treatment plant. The announcement stated that the sewerage project in Gulaothi, Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, that aims to clean the Ganga river has received official approval to be implemented. According to the statement, the project's goal is to stop pollution in the East Kali River, a tributary of the Ganga that passes through eight districts in Uttar Pradesh. The Executive Committee has also accepted the project titled "Restoration Plan of Lower Order Streams and Tributaries in the Upper Gomti River Basin through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS)". The initiative, which was put out by the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University in Lucknow, focuses on using NBS to revitalize lower-order streams and tributaries in the upper Gomti River Basin. At an estimated cost of Rs 81.09 lakh, this project is extremely important because, as it was mentioned, little streams and rivers are essential to the environment and water flow of larger rivers.
