Special trains to manage rush
Southern Railway will start operation of trains between Kochuveli and Chennai Egmore to manage rush. The following are the details about the train- Train Kochuveli – Chennai Egmore numbered 06068 is a special fare special train. It will leave Kochuveli at 3.30 p.m. on August 23 and 30 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 5.45 a.m. the next day. The train coaches will be classified as two AC 2-tier, three AC 3-tier, two general and luggage vans and 11 Sleeper classes. The train will have stoppages at Thiruvananthapuram, Kulithurai, Nagercoil Town, Valliyoor, Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchi, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam. Train Chennai Egmore – Kochuveli numbered 82607 will leave Chennai Egmore at 8.20 p.m. on August 24 and 31, and reach Kochuveli at 12.25 p.m. the next day. The composition of this train is same as the previous train. This train will have stoppages at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchi, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Satur, Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli, Valliyoor, Nagercoil Town, Kulithurai and Thiruvananthapuram. Special trains between Kochuveli – Karaikkal have been canceled due to low patronage. Some more trains connecting the northeastern parts of the country have been canceled due to heavy rains and flooded tracks.
