Know More About the Education Minister Who Gave Government Students a Time of Their Life by Taking Them Abroad
Around 68 students of Tamil Nadu government schools got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go abroad after excelling in an online state-level quiz competition. The lucky students were taken to Sharjah, Dubai, on an educational tour. The students were accompanied by the state school education minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, along with five teachers and three officials from the education department. The trip spanned four days from November 10 to 13 and they visited the International Book Fair, schools and libraries. Addressing the students at the book fair, emphasized the value and usefulness of reading. Additionally, he extended an invitation to Sharjah's representatives to attend the Chennai International Book Festival, which is scheduled to take place the following year. The students were also taken to the royal family's palace in Abu Dhabi where they learned about United Arab Emirates' history and growth. They also went to the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum, where they learned more interesting things about the forward-thinking city. The expenses of the knowledge tour were covered by funds for corporate social responsibility. The tour was scheduled for last year but got postponed due to the pandemic.
