Capturing Courage: Selfie Zones to Celebrate the Indian Army!
In the age of Instagram and viral trends, a new chapter is being written in the story of the Indian Army. The Defense Ministry has made a unique and inspiring request to various agencies - the creation of 'selfie zones' to showcase their remarkable work. What We Know Till Now : Various reforms have been happening that have significantly contributed towards security and trust in the Indian Army. Lately, some interesting updates have been presented by the defense ministry of India, which of the new ideas are enabling “people to get the feeling of being close to the superpower of Indian Army”.The overall number of recommended selfie points is 822.The initiative has listed ideas on how to create innovative selfie points - War memorials, defense museums, railway & metro stations, bus stations, airports, malls & markets, schools & colleges, tourism attractions, and festival gatherings are just a few of the suggested locations. Themes Are Indeed Looking so Fresh and Empowering: The Ministry has listed a number of overarching themes for the selfie points, including Aatmanirbhar Bharat (DPSUs & three services), Sashaktikaran (three services), R&D and Innovation (DRDO & DDP), Border Infrastructure Development, (Army, IAF, and BRO), ExServicemen Welfare. (DESW, Kendriya & Zila Sainik Boards), NCC & Sai. One of the themes ‘Nari Sakhti’ for the selfie zones is being worked upon. In addition to this various feedback mechanisms , via dedicated apps, and social media handles ( “ with catchy IDs” ) , all of which people can use to send selfies. Suggestive Measures and Recommendations: The recommendations suggest that digital selfie points with Artificial Intelligence displays may also be constructed to draw in younger audiences and demonstrate the progress in innovation. Selfie stations ought to be placed in visible areas with high footfall and the potential to draw attention from the general public. The Ministry suggested creating a unique WhatsApp account and email address to invite people to submit selfies. Additionally, it was stated that the phone number and email ID might be printed on the selfie points. We all should always remember that the soldiers altogether are the army. No army is better than its soldiers. The soldier is also a citizen. In fact, the highest obligation and privilege of citizenship are that of bearing arms for one's country!
