Ruveda Salam Is The First IPS Officer From Kashmir

Dr. Ruveda Salam, is a doctor and the first woman from Kashmir to clear the Union Public Service-(UPSC) exams, that too in the first attempt to become an IPS officer. She inspires young girls to break stereotypes, aim high and follow their dreams.  Her MBBS degree and Kashmir Administrative Service qualifications is an evidence of her academic brilliance. Although she is posted in Chennai, she is aware of the happenings in her state and strongly believes that development can bring peace in the valley.  She intends to pursue Social work seriously as it helps individuals to be associated with society. She opines that ‘serving the humanity’ is the key to a police officer.
