India is back to compete at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival after 13 years with film Ralang Road
Film Ralang Road will represent India at the 52nd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic. This is a Nepali-Hindi film directed by Karma Takapa and produced by HumanTrail Pictures. The story of the film revolves around a day spent in a small hill town where series of weird coincidences related to mysterious robbery occur. This brings four people together. As the day comes to an end, the situations take more dramatic twists. These lead the four people into puzzling upcoming consequences of the fright around. The film is shot in Rabong town of Sikkim and touches every aspect of the cultural and social lifestyle of the people in a tragic setup. Major cast of the film is normal local people with no prior acting experience. This will be after a gap of about 13 years that any Indian film will be competing with other international films at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Ralang Road has also been nominated for the Crystal Globe Award along with 11 other films from around the world. The writer and director of this film are Karma Takapa and believes in writing story that makes the filming experience more of a fun.
