Neelam Kapur Becomes The Director General Of SAI

Neelam Kapur, a senior most Indian Information Officer was appointed as the Director General For Sports Authority of India. It is the first time when an IIS officer was selected for a post in SAI, in maximum cases an IAS is appointed at this post. At present Kapur is working as the Principal Director General of the Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP). Kapur has been appointed at various positions and is an officer of 1982 IIS batch. In 2009, under the UPA government Kapurwas appointed as the Principal Director General of the Press Information Bureau (PIB). According to a senior official, Kapur has been one of the longest serving secretary- level officers of the IIS. She has earlier handled important assignments which include National Aids Control Organisation (NACO) and has also headed Directorate of Film Festivals, Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP) and Directorate of Field Publicity(DFP).
