Nooyi Creates History, Becomes The First Female Director in ICC.
Indra Nooyi, chairman and CEO of PepsiCo was appointed as the first independent female director for ICC Board. Indra is a global business leader,and has been consistently ranked by Fortune Magazine among the World's Most Powerful Women. Indra will take up the office at ICC board in June 2018 after she was unanimously appointed as a Director in a meeting held on Friday. After her appointment,Shashank Manohar, the ICC Chairman, welcomed the announcement. "We are delighted to welcome Indra to the ICC," Manohar said. "Adding another independent director - particularly a female - is such an important step forward in improving our governance. To have someone of Indra's calibre is fantastic news for the global game - she is frequently recognized as one of the most influential people in business today, running one of the world's biggest corporations. Indra Nooyi a woman full of life and with her vibrant persona was excited about being appointed as a director and said, Indra said: "I love the game of cricket. I played it as a teenager and in college, and to this day, I cherish the lessons the game taught me about teamwork, integrity, respect, and healthy competition.
