Railways Have An Answer To Tackle Fog

We often hear about trains getting delayed, cancelled or rescheduled owing to the fog that engulfs the northern part of the country in winter. Now, the Railways have introduced a fog safety device to tackle this problem. When installed on the train, GPS technology in the fog safety device with a map of tracks, signals, stations and level crossing of Northern Railway, alerts loco pilot about level crossing/signal. When drivers know there are no hurdles, they can increase speed thus reducing delays. The Indian Railways is also working towards upgrading Indian Railways infrastructure, especially computerisation of the signalling system.
