Indian bags gold at the Commonwealth Youth Games
Indian boxer Sachin Siwach made a glorious win against Welsh boxer James Nathan Prober by winning gold at the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas. Sachin Siwach is the only amongst 103 boxers to win gold in the tournament. The Youth World Champion also bore Indian flag for the tournament. He entered into the finals after defeating SA Kuse. He further defeated James Nathan Prober with a score of 4-1 in the light flyweight 49 kg category. In this month, he had bagged silver medal after losing to Uzbekistan’s Samandar Kholmurodov at the finals of the Asian Youth Boxing Championship at Bangkok. The only other Indian to win a medal at the ongoing tournament is Jony. She bagged silver medal in the lightweight 60 kg category. She lost her finals by a small margin of a single point against her Australian opponent Ella Jade Boot. Muhammed Etash Khan bagged bronze after losing the semifinals in the bantamweight (56kg) category against England's Reuben Shiloh Defreitas. About 103 boxers has competed at the event. India is proud of all its victors that made our nation proud by making a mark at a global level.
