Making The Best Out Of Life’s Tragedy
Arunima Sinha is a gritty woman. She lost her leg as she was thrown out of a train by thugs to whom she refused to give her gold chain. As her accident got wide media attention, fake news were also doing the rounds like she had attempted suicide. Arunima decided to silence them all and set herself an almost impossible goal – conquering Mt. Everest. Enduring excruciating pain among many other odds, Arunima reached the summit in 2013 and became the first amputee in the world to successfully complete this feat. For her incomparable courage and determination, she was awarded the country’ fourth highest civilian honor – Padma Shri in 2015.
