The Hackathon Journey: How to Join and Compete

Taking part in the Bharatiya Antariksh Hackathon is straightforward and well-organized. First, you need to register online by visiting ISRO’s official website or the hackathon portal on Hack2Skill. Next, form a team with two or three other students, making sure your group has three to four members in total. Then, choose one of the 14 carefully designed problem statements provided by ISRO to focus on. After that, work together to brainstorm, design, and develop your innovative solution with creativity and scientific precision. Finally, submit your complete proposal with all the necessary documentation before the deadline. 

Remember the important dates: The grand finale will be held on August 7-8 at NRSC, Hyderabad, where finalists will have the exciting opportunity to showcase their solutions on a national platform.

Exploring the Challenges: Real Problems, Real Impact

The hackathon features 14 exciting problem statements that cover some of the most important areas in space technology today. Participants can work on projects like simulating the spread of forest fires using satellite data to help predict and manage wildfires or creating AI-based help bots to support space research. Other challenges include monitoring air pollution from space to improve air quality and using large language models to better understand geospatial data. 

There are also tasks focused on improving weather forecasts through cloud motion prediction and identifying tropical cloud clusters using satellite images. Additionally, participants can explore advanced image processing projects such as detecting lunar landslides and enhancing satellite images for better clarity. All these problems are closely connected to real-world issues like disaster management and climate monitoring, demonstrating how space technology can make a positive impact on life here on Earth.
