Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong, a woman known as the "Mother Teresa of Vietnam," has dedicated her life to helping orphans and disadvantaged children. Huong's journey to becoming a champion of children's rights was not an easy one, as she spent several decades homeless and struggling to survive.
Born in the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam, Huong was abandoned by her parents and grew up in poverty. She worked as a street vendor and later as a housekeeper before becoming homeless in her 40s. Despite her own struggles, Huong never lost her compassion for others.
In the early 1990s, Huong began taking in orphaned children and providing them with food, shelter, and education. Over the years, her efforts grew, and she founded the Thien Binh Shelter, which now houses over 200 children.
Huong's selflessness and dedication to helping others have earned her the nickname "Mother Teresa of Vietnam." Her work has been recognized by the Vietnamese government, and she has received numerous awards for her contributions to society.
Despite facing many challenges, Huong never gave up on her dream of helping children in need. Her story is an inspiring reminder of the power of compassion and the difference that one person can make in the lives of others.
