Japan launched a microsatellite on Saturday after a failed attempt of the same in last year in January.
The rocket is said to be as small as a utility pole of a size 10 metres in length and 50 centimetres in diameter.
The rocket was lifted off from the Uchinoura Space Centre in Kagoshima Prefecture. The launch was successful and the satellite weighs about 3 kilograms.
It was developed by the University of Tokyo to college images of Earth's surface.
