Australia is all set to host the world’s largest solar-thermal power plant as its government approved a proposal of a US-based company, SolarReserve that intends to set up a 150-megawatt plant in the Australian state.
The facility, worth ₹3,200 crore, will create 650 construction jobs and 50 ongoing positions when completed. It will be able to power 90,000 homes with eight hours of full load storage.
This world-leading project is expected to deliver clean, dispatchable renewable energy to supply the country’s electrified rail, hospitals and schools.
