The first bionic hand with a sense of touch has been developed and tested by a group of international scientists. Its recipient Almerina Mascarello, who lost her left hand in an accident nearly a quarter of a century ago, said that the bionic hand made her feel complete again.
The world’s first bionic feeling hand was first made in 2014. However, the sensory and computer equipment it was linked to was too large to leave the laboratory. Now, scientists have developed a miniature technology that makes the hand portable.
Almerina had received the first bionic feeling hand that could be taken out of the laboratory.
