It was a happy and proud moment for India as Lakshadweep's Minicoy Thundi and Kadmat beaches became the proud entries in the prestigious list of Blue Beaches, an eco-label given to the world's cleanest beaches thus taking India’s tally of Blue Beaches to 12.
Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people of Lakshadweep for this impressive feat. He said that this is part of India’s relentless journey towards building a sustainable environment.
According to pib.gov.in, the Thundi Beach is one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the Lakshadweep archipelago. The white sand on the beach is bordered by the turquoise-blue water of the lagoon which makes it very picturesque. To add to its beauty, there is a vintage lighthouse from where one can click pictures of breathtaking views.
Kadmat Beach has a sizable lagoon, extensive expanses of sand, and huge coral growth. This beach is the ideal spot for anyone who enjoys taking part in water sports activities and capturing some breathtaking sights.
