An Indian American being nominated to a senior position in US administration by Trump.
Manisha Singh, 45, a prominent Indian-American lawyer by profession was born in India and grew up in Florida. A native of Uttar Pradesh, she moved to Florida along with her parents as a child.
She was named the assistant secretary of state for economic and business affairs. She had served in this bureau earlier as a Chief Counsel and Senior Policy Adviser to the assistant secretary Dan Sullivan.
Earlier this year Singh told Washington Examiner, a right leaning news publication “I thought, ‘well, I have enough exposure and experience to translate this now to the policy world,’ so that’s when I decided to move to the Hill. My first exposure on the Senate side on the foreign relations committee,”.
The list of Indian Americans selected by Trump is increasing which includes Seema Verma, Vishal J Amin, Neomi Rao, Nikki Haley, and many more.
