When we hear of tea gardens,  It is Darjeeling in the East or Wayanad in the South that comes to our mind, but have you heard of the Temi Tea Gardens which is situated in the hills of the Himalayan state of Sikkim?  One of the best tea gardens in India, the Temi Tea Garden, situated in the town of Ravangla was founded in 1969 and is well-known for its organic tea. It has been attempting to get a GI Tag for the kind of tea it produces.

The state government has been hosting a festival that honors the legacy of those who introduced tea growing to Sikkim. The festival highlights the commitment and passion of the local farmers who care for the tea gardens with everlasting devotion. 

The Temi Tea Estate in Ravangla comes to life with the Temi Tea Autumn Festival in the second part of the year, between October and November, as the cherry blossom trees adorn the streets of Sikkim. The festival, which is also known as the Cherry Tea Festival, aims to raise awareness of the cherry blossoms and organic tea grown at this isolated estate.

Tea lovers who attend this annual festival are enthralled by the adventurous activities, photographic contests, and cultural programs presented against the backdrop of the breathtaking Kanchenjunga mountain.
