In a bid to make students prepared to tackle any unfortunate situation, Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) is planning to start a demonstration and training program for school students travelling by bus. In case the school bus meets an accident or catches fire or in any other emergencies, the RTO will train them with few Do’s and Don’ts while they travel.
Usually the drivers and the helpers have no idea about how to behave during emergencies and what steps are to be taken for quick evacuation.
Even while all the buses have emergency exits but even drivers do not know how to open it and how one can easily evacuate the bus in emergency. All these small tips will be a part of the training program. The RTO has previously set up the rules and regulation which are to be followed by the transporters, this additional training will surely prove as a boon to the students and the transporters to be ready for any emergencies.
As we are aware of the protocols followed in the flight, similarly this training program will also give details of protocol to be followed on road travel.
With more than 600 schools in the city affiliated to Pune Division, RTO will also take help of other agencies like police, fire-safety, and parent-teachers associations to reach each and every school in the city. Videos of the demonstration will also be sent to the school so that the school officials can show students this video on regular basis.
Many times, during any emergency situations, it is observed that because of the lack of knowledge, there is a chaotic situation and chances of injuries are higher in this case.
Therefore, such demonstrations will surely help students to understand the norms to be followed.
