On September 5, 2024, New Delhi will buzz with excitement as it hosts the National Teachers Award ceremony, recognizing 50 of India’s top educators. Among the distinguished recipients will be Urfana Amir, a dedicated teacher at BHSS, Soura, and one of only 50 educators chosen to receive the National Teachers Award 2024. Her innovative teaching methods have earned her a place among the elite few from Jammu and Kashmir to achieve this recognition. Urfana's selection for this honor has been hailed by both her colleagues and the school administration.
Not only is Urfana Amin happy to have received the National Teacher Award, but her entire neighborhood and region are also proud of her. She will receive a silver medal, a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and a certificate of merit in exchange for this honor.

In 2002, Urfana Amin started her teaching career as a general line instructor. She has demonstrated unmatched excellence and dedication in her line of work. She is currently employed at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Soura as a master grade teacher.
Urfana Amin has gone beyond traditional teaching methods. Her proficiency in Braille has been very helpful in improving the education of kids with special needs. Her substantial contribution to the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programs in Kashmir is proof of her dedication to educational innovation. She received praise from both parents and students for her remarkable achievement. This is truly a groundbreaking and outstanding accomplishment for her!
