Vehicles are increasing with every passing day and so is the amount of carbon dioxide that gets released. Deforestation is making it difficult for the remaining trees to absorb the harmful gas which is leading to environmental degradation. There are many who try their utmost to deal with this problem and we love to talk about their work. Similarly, an NGO called Eden Reforestation Projects founded by Steve Fitch has been contributing a lot to bring positive changes.
The organization works closely with developing countries to bring back the beauty of the place which gets affected due to cutting down of trees. They hire the local villagers and train them about planting, growing and nurturing plants. The villagers make an income out of it and support their families with the money. The ‘employ to plant methodology’ of the NGO gives rise to the multiplication of positive socio-economic and environment measures.
Eden Reforestation Projects’ laudable work has helped plant more than 250 million trees till now. They have worked in Nepal, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Haiti, and Indonesia. And by 2025, the NGO plans to plant 500 million trees each year.
Eden Reforestation Projects has inspired us to do our part. We as human beings have the power to bring in a lot of alterations for a sustainable environment. A little hard work every day will end up giving big results tomorrow.
