Potholes make it difficult for people to commute and despite knowing this fact, necessary steps are not taken at times to fix them. And a man named Frank Sereno decided to do something out of the box to get a 3 inches deep and 2 feet wide pothole in Kansas City repaired.
The three-month-old pothole was neglected so, Frank kept a piece of cake with a numerical candle 3 on the depression and celebrated its birthday. An action was taken after a photo of the celebration got circulated. The pothole was fixed by the public works department.
In a conversation with CNN, Frank said: "We have to be as creative as we can to get things fixed. For me, it's just about making sure my neighbours' and my voice are continuously heard.”
The people living around the area have now got hope just because of Frank’s unique idea which worked. Potholes are one of the primary reasons for road accidents thus, the depressions must be taken seriously. The roads will become much safer for people to travel if necessary steps are taken on time.
