Lately, a video of a man abandoning his dog started doing the rounds on the internet. The CCTV footage broke the hearts of several but finally, the dog has now got a loving home. There are numerous such muted animals who have been abandoned by their owners and not everyone is lucky to get adopted. Once Theoklitos Proestakis from Greece visited his nearby garbage area where he came across an injured dog. And that was the day when a bond was formed between the two of them.

Theoklitos made it a point to nurture the dog so, he used to go to the dumping ground every day and also provided medical facilities for the muted soul.

In an interview with CBS News, Theoklitos said that later he found many other dogs from the garbage. He also added: "I was taking care of 50 dogs. After a few days, I was taking care of 70 dogs. Every single day."

The local people detested the dogs which he was taking care of but, Theoklitos safeguarded them and finally came up with the Takis Shelter which is now home to numerous dogs. The shelter is of 33,000 square meters and a total of €6,000 is spent every month for the dogs.

Theoklitos has rescued 500 dogs till now and he also takes help of the social media to get the muted souls adopted. We need more people like him in every country to offer a beautiful life to the animals who get neglected and are going through menace.
