What do you do when something bothers you and the people around you? Do you complain about the difficulties that are being faced or take necessary steps to mend the problem? 44-year-old farmer, Nicholas Muchemi prefers to work on the issue and make things easy.
When Nicholas saw that there was a need for a new road in Kaganda village, Kenya, he came forward with a pick-axe and hoe and built the road all by himself.
The women in the village now find it easier and not time-consuming to reach the market, children use it to head to school while others take the road to reach the town’s church.
Nicholas did face some difficulties while making the road and while talking about the same with USA Today he said: "The hardest part to make was places where the drainage had to pass and there were deep roots getting in the way.”
Everybody appreciated his commendable deed and was extremely happy to see the new road. One of his neighbours even took to his Facebook profile to talk about his laudable act. The world will become a much better place to live in if more people like Nicholas take charge of things to make a difference.
