Women are no more naive or vulnerable, they have come a long way and don’t let anything stand in their way. They know how to defend themselves as most give it back to those who lech at them or behave inappropriately. In Pune, more than 500 women bouncers are playing a key role in managing several things. These women are fierce and leading their lives without the fear of societal pressure.
In the year 2017, actor and activist, Deepa Parab came up with Rangragini Bouncers Group of Pune which trains women for free. They are able to work on their strength and muscle through the training sessions which help them land with jobs such as bodyguards and security personnel. They also get to manage political rallies, social functions, and private parties. Earlier some of these women were made fun of by men but, now no one has the courage to talk to them like that.
The thought of Rangragini Bouncers Group of Pune came into Deepa’s mind when she realized women bouncers had only limited jobs as she told The Indian Express: “More than five years ago, I saw how women bouncers were limited to only pubs in Mumbai to keep the crowd in check. They had no other role to play. This is when I decided to come to Pune and start an academy to train bouncers for free.”
It's been two years since the inception of the organization and until now they have trained 540 women. These women belong from both middle and lower-middle-class families.
The desire of becoming strong is escalating amid women with every passing day. Be it sports or bodybuilding, they are acing in every field. Rangragini Bouncers Group of Pune has already made innumerable women stronger and we hope the number increases at an extensive rate next year.
