They say it’s important to look at the brighter side to live life a bit more rather to the fullest. But, is it necessary to witness everything to understand what life is? Japanese sailor, Mitsuhiro Iwamoto reached a monumental height after completing a non-stop voyage from San Diego to Fukushima Prefecture. Self-belief played a big role when something incredible like this happened and his lost eye-sight did not stop him from completing the two-month long journey. The 52-year-old blind sailor looked extremely happy and sported a wide smile with a victory sign after completing the voyage.
Mitsuhiro was accompanied by a sighted navigator, Doug Smith in his 40 ft. boat called, Dream Weaver. In 2013, he tried to complete the journey for the first time but, unfortunately, his boat sank owing to hitting a whale. However, he succeeded at his second attempt and became the first blind person to sail across the Pacific Ocean.
Mitsuhiro expressed is happiness to Japan’s Kyodo News by stating: "I didn't give up and I made a dream come true. I'm the happiest person on earth."
It may take time to achieve something that you have longed for since ages thus, patience is essential. Mitsuhiro’s story tells us that it’s fine to fail in life because the real joy of success can be felt if you have experienced failure.
