While many people around the world are discussing climate change, only a few are acting on it. We thought the next generation will have to bear the brunt of climate change, but incidents like Kerala floods, Chennai water crisis or the heatwave in Europe seem to suggest that we are already experiencing the adverse effects of climate change.
It is heartening to know that there are people out there who are taking small steps in their own way to make a difference and protect the planet. Former IITian from Assam, Dhritiman Bora is one such person.
Dhritiman Bora took the initiative and efforts to replace plastic bottles with bamboo bottles. We know that gradually, plastic is being replaced by bamboo as we have seen in the case of plates and spoons. The advantage of bamboo is that it is natural and it can be reused as well as disposed of easily, unlike plastic. The bamboo bottle is totally natural and it is covered with a cork which is leak proof.
Dhritiman is helped by Mousom Bora in his endeavour. According to them, the bottles are sturdy and being entirely natural, water stored in it is cool and hygienic. the bamboo bottles. The cost of the bottle ranges from Rs 400 to Rs 600 and they are available in different sizes. People can buy these eco-friendly bamboo bottles via an e-commerce platform called www.tribalplanets.com.
