Zest Outdoor Media, a pioneer in green out-of-home asset management, has made history by achieving a remarkable Guinness World Record. The company successfully installed a staggering 84 solar panels on a single advertising billboard, earning the title for the most extensive solar panel installation on a billboard.
This groundbreaking feat involved merging three separate 40 feet x 20 feet hoardings into one colossal 60 feet x 40 feet billboard, with the solar panels positioned on the rear. The installation is expected to generate an impressive 60,000 units of renewable energy each year.
Zest Outdoor Media's achievement has attracted the attention of Hyundai Motor India, which has joined as a green partner for the record-breaking billboard. Rajnesh Bahl, the Business Head of Zest Outdoor Media, congratulated the entire team for their remarkable accomplishment and extended gratitude to Media Marketing Services and Bright Outdoor Media for their valuable partnership.
The journey towards solar-installed billboards began for Zest nine years ago, and in 2019, the company collaborated with the esteemed IIT Mumbai to develop the concept of installing solar panels on hoardings. This innovative idea was then presented to the Central Railways, who embraced it enthusiastically. Bahl shared that 17 hoardings, covering a total area of 11,675 square feet, were constructed, and an impressive 392 solar panels were installed. Since then, Zest Outdoor Media has been working closely with the Central Railways to further expand the installation of solar-panelled billboards.
