'The Maharaja Express' is the most expensive and luxurious trains of India. Flagged off in 2010, it showers its passengers in luxury abound as the train traverses through the fascinating terrain and fabulous tourist destinations across India.
It comprises of 14 guest carriages which can accommodate 88 guests on board. There are 20 Deluxe Cabins, 18 Junior Suites, 4 Suites and a plush Presidential Suite that offers a five star experience.The lavish presidential suite spans one entire carriage. The cabins are elegantly designed and the ambiance is excellent. Guests can indulge in the library as well as a souvenir shop during the journey. There are two restaurants that offer delectable cuisines.

The Safari Bar offers the wine revelers with meticulous concoctions of domestic and international brands of wine and liquors.
The Mayur Mahal is a sitting lounge which helps the guests to unwind and relax after the day's sightseeing. They can also interact and have chit-chat sessions with fellow passengers.
The Rang Mahal is another restaurant with serene interiors and glittering furnishing that can accomodate 42 guests at a time and serves a melange of world cuisines.
Recently, the Union Minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhu said that the world’s top class luxury train ‘The Maharaja Express’ will soon ply en-route western and southern states from this year end. He said that the train will cover Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka and will attract tourists from all over the world to these states.
