Shital Rane Mahajan became the first Indian to skydive in a saree and set a new record on her name. We've seen women trip over when carrying a saree but Shital has shown us the trick of carrying a saree by skydiving in it.
Sheetal is said to be a famous adventurist. The enthusiast was seen wearing a pink nav-wari saree which is the traditional wear of Maharashtra.
In an interview, Sheetal said, "First, to drape the ‘Nav-wari sari’ properly, plus to wear the parachutes on it, the safety gear and communication equipment, helmet, goggles, shoes, etc, add on to and make it all quite a challenge."
Sheetal holds accolades in many sports including Padma Shri laureate and has had eighteen national and six international skydiving records.
I wanted to prove that Indian women can not only carry the sari graciously in their routine lives but can also use it for a high adventure like skydiving,” concluded Sheetal.
