The Leadership Enrichment for Adolescents through Assessment & Development (LEAAD) awards have motivated youngsters in Gujarat to usher in change while they are competing in its fifth and final round.

51 interested high school students studying in class VIII to class XI have participated to develop and demonstrate their leadership capabilities.

Samir Parikh, organizer of LEAAD awards said that the students have undergone six stages and five months' long process including psychometric test, leadership camp, action project planning, action project execution for four to eight weeks, semi-final jury and final round jury.

Yash Kothari, an enthusiastic student studied the hobbies of slum children and raised a fund of Rs 10,000 to help slum children get computer education and projector. In future, he hopes to collect Rs 50,000 for the slum children.

Shubh Shah convinced a Padra-based factory and Subhanpura-based apartment to adopt the rain water harvesting system. He conducted research and created a working model to convince people to take up water harvesting.

Manvi Singh, a 16 year old organized a blood donation drive in which 35 persons donated blood.

Pradyuman Chauhan, 13, performed street play and cleanliness drive in his school in order to spread awareness regarding cleanliness and to show dignity of labour.

The LEAAD awards 2017  will be conferred on the winners on December 22.
