Hunger is a significant cause of death in this world, it affects millions of people, even the members of low-income households. It was a bright day for several underprivileged people when 550 students at San Diego Jewish Academy gathered together to feed them. These students made more than 800 sandwiches in three minutes which could break the earlier record of 490 sandwiches under the same timing. The officials of the Guinness Book of World Record will watch the video in order to determine the result.
There were 52 tables in front of the students and each one of them had bread slices, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and mustard. Parent volunteers were also a part of the sandwich making a record as they guided the students on how to make it. The sandwiches were packed by adults and given away to Alpha Project who later served them to the low-income and homeless people.
The students were told that raising fund is not enough to do something for the world as the school head, Chaim Heller told The San Diego Union Tribune: “We want our students to know it’s not enough to talk about the changing the world. It’s not enough to raise money to change the world. You have to use your hands and feet. This is a step toward being lifelong change-agents.”
Apart from attempting to surpass the record of sandwich making, it was a fantastic way to feed the ones who are in dire need of food. Numerous problems of the world can get sorted with the elimination of hunger.
