British based fashion designer Stella McCartney, in collaboration with the Parley for the Oceans, will make use of ocean plastic waste for her new fashion line named Ocean legends.
She made the announcement on 8th June which is celebrated as World Ocean Day. She will use the ocean plastic waste instead of woven recycled polyester. On her idea, she commented that the fashion industry continuously keeps on challenging self and finds ways for improvising their work. Every designer is responsible for the products they make and ways by which they make. She further added, "Fashion is an industry that makes a significant impact on the health of the planet, and on its life support system — the oceans."
Stella has a current partnership with Parley for the Oceans through Adidas. The first product of this chain is a Falabella Go backpack. It will have the brand's signature braided Falabella chain across its pocket along with the Sea Shepherd badges, all made from ocean plastic. The bag will be launched in 2017 and the mention of usage of oceanic plastic will be mentioned on the tag.
Such innovative ideas really add up to nature’s conservation and preservation. This will contribute to the oceanic waste management and also to water pollution.
