The French startup E-Vone has come up with smart shoes with falling alerts which notifies family or medical services if a user takes a fall. The shoe was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 at the World Trade Center in Las Vegas.
The shoes feature GPS, accelerometer and a pressure system which activates the alarm when someone wears them. According to the startup, they're designed for elderly people, construction workers and hikers among others.
The shoes work independently without the need of a mobile device because it processes all the information on its own, thanks to a GSM chip, GPS and LoRa antennas, which can send the bad news with "ultra-precise" geolocation details.
