A married couple from Rajasthan’s small village proves that ‘educating students is not just a job, it’s more than that!’
Vinod aged 41 and Seema Meena aged 39 are this exemplary couple who are working selflessly to brighten the future of underprivileged children. This couple teaches poor underprivileged students free of cost and prepares them for competitive examinations to seek government jobs in state or across the country. They are doing their selfless service since past six years. The inspiration behind this initiative is Vinod’s own hardships he faced as a child belonging to an economically weaker family. Their coaching institute is named ‘Nishulk Guidance Classes’ and since 2011, have helped about 300 underprivileged students to get government jobs in various sectors like banking, police, railways and so on.
They select their 60 students through a screening process. These are then trained in subjects like English, mathematics, science, general knowledge and reasoning for three months. Classes are conducted daily for four hours except for Sundays. The coaching provided is completely free and they manage the expenses for the classes from their own salaries. Every month they spend Rs. 20,000 from their salaries to pay the rent of the premises and on stationeries for the students.
