Indian Premiure Legue has given many stars to Indian cricket and with IPL fever 2017 again catching fire in the country, Rahul Tripathi is one player who has made the Pune team proud.
While Tripathi and M S Dhoni share the same birth place Ranchi, Tripathi has made Rising Pune Supergiant proud by giving few best boundary strokes. Right from the tender age of nine-month-old Rahul had developed a great affection for cricket and would also turned his Pencil and eraser to Bat-ball while he studied in kindergarten.
Born in an Army family, he has travelled and shifted to many cities, but after he reached Pune, his cricket career took a front stage as he joined Deccan Gymkhana, city's oldest Cricket coaching institute and started playing for the gymkhana.
Also holding a bachelors in science in Maths subject, apart from a strong career in sports, he was also a bright student throughout his school and college days. His parents were also proud, informing that his lowest score in Matsh in all his school career is 98.
With extremely dedicated towards Cricket, his Army background and formal upbringing has also helped him to be a good sportperson and follow all the rules. Rahul was signed on by the RPS in the auction for his base price of Rs 10 lakh. An IPL contract brings the players money and opportunity, but also, a mark. They are tagged fortunate, special, looked at differently by their teammates.
He had 185 runs from 11 innings in this year’s Ranji Trophy.
According to his coaches at Deccan Gymkhana, Rahul has always batted in the top three for club and Maharashtra age group teams, and has been among the highest run-getters in those tournaments. His 33 off 17 balls helped RPS get to their 50 off 27 balls, which was the fastest in the tournament for the Pune team. His runs against RCB gave his RPS a good start.
