Pune recently marked a significant milestone in science education with the inauguration of its first digital planetarium at Abhinava Vidyalaya English Medium High School (AVEMHS) in Kothrud. Named the Dr. Nanasaheb Upasani Planetarium, this new facility opens up exciting opportunities for students, educators, and astronomy enthusiasts to explore the wonders of the universe through immersive sky shows and interactive science programs. 

Until now, Pune did not have a digital planetarium of this scale, which makes this development a breakthrough in bringing modern astronomical education to the city. Currently, the planetarium is operational for schools and colleges, with plans to open its doors to the general public starting in September.

The planetarium is named after Dr. Nanasaheb Upasani, the former president of Adarsh Shikshan Mandali, the organization behind this project. His son, Sudhir Upasani, played a crucial role in funding the initiative, demonstrating how personal legacy and community spirit can come together to advance education. 

The installation of the equipment was handled by Infovision, with technology developed by the US-based company ES, ensuring the highest quality standards. This collaboration highlights the blending of local passion and global technology to create an educational hub in Pune.
