They say rules are meant to be broken but, it shouldn’t be the same when it comes to traffic. Following the regulations is not a difficult task but, yet people end up breaking them at times which can lead to accidents. But what if you are given a reward for abiding by the rules? Punekars rejoice! The traffic department of the city has tied up with Swiggy and Zomato to give 50% discount on food to the commuters who follow road rules.
The collaboration falls under the Aabhar Yojana initiative which commenced last month. And this scheme is highly beneficial for law-abiding motorists. The cops stop them randomly and check if their records are clear and if it is, a 10 digit coupon code is sent to their phones which they can avail for discounts.
Most of these commuters used their coupon code at restaurants therefore, the traffic department decided to come up with the 50% discount on food offer.
In an interview with Pune Mirror, a Zomato spokesperson talked about how pleased they are with the tie-up as the person said: “We care deeply about road safety and have been engaging with traffic police in various cities to propagate this message. We are happy to partner with Pune traffic police in our collective endeavour to encourage those who follow traffic rules, by offering 50 per cent off discount coupons.”
Following the traffic norms will lead to road safety which will result in lesser cases of accidents. Mishaps can occur out of nowhere and in order to prevent it, commuters must not only abide by the rules but also wear seatbelts and helmets. The city’s traffic department has taken a great initiative which will motivate several commuters to follow the road rules.
