52-year-old James Anderson from Burley in Lancashire, London had closed down his profit-making plumbing business to relaunch a not-for-profit company. He has been offering free services to the elderly and differently-abled people across the country.
On account of rendering free services, Anderson’s business began to dwindle and he feared he would go bankrupt. He then decided to raise money for elderly and differently-abled people in Lancashire through crowdfunding and donations.
Anderson’s generous work became viral when his bill of zero pounds was shared on social media. The bill was sent last week to a 91-year-old woman and a statement on the bill read that he won’t charge the lady under any circumstance and will be available 24-hours to help her and keep her as comfortable as possible.
Donations began to pour in and he received 80,000 pounds(Rs 70 Lakhs). Besides that, he also received holiday offers from several customers. Some people also mailed him asking him to do his good work in other countries.
Anderson is overwhelmed by the response to his generous work and he intends to use the donation money to help people outside Lancashire.
