Taking into consideration the positive effects of yoga, all the government schools in Uttar Pradesh will start yoga education program. As per the directions by chief minister Yogi Adityanath, the state officials will soon start working in this regard.
Apart from yoga, the state government is also making self-defence training mandatory in all the schools. This training for girls will make sure that girls learn the basics of self-defence which will help them to protect themselves.
According to the report published in Hindustan times, a statement released by the UP government, Adityanath chaired a meeting of education department officials late evening on Monday, where he issued these directions. “The chief minister directed that ‘Rani Laxmibai Aatmaraskha Kaaryakram’ (self defence programme) and ‘Yog Shiksha Kaaryakram’ (Yoga education programme) would be compulsory,” the statement released on Tuesday said.
India has already started following the International Yoga Day on June 21 every year. Apart from the regular physical activities, imparting the knowledge of yoga will surely help students to be healthy and also positively impact their mind.
While, self-defence is a need of the time and girls getting the education of the same will help them to protect themselves in any situations.
