Following many cases of paper leaks related to state board, now Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in planning to install mobile phone jammers at all the examination centres.
After five HSC question papers were circulated on the WhatsApp group just few minutes before the examination, there was a lot of controversy in the case.
Few findings also brought into light the involvement of coaching centre owners and principal in the matter. This made it clear that paper leak was done from the examination centre. HSC question papers of Marathi, secretarial practice, physics, political science and accounts were circulating in the WhatsApp group.
The state Board has also asked the examination centre officials to submit a report on difficulty of handling the malpractices and the board will in return decide on the various norms that can avoid such malpractices. But the Boards are also planning to set up mobile jammers as it is one of the easiest way to curb these regular paper leaks. After studying the cost factor and its timely usage, a proposal will be sent to State Government. Similarly, a proposal to install CCTV cameras at the examination centre was also in the pipeline and awaits approval.
With many cases of paper leaks found this year, such move will surely be a sigh of relief for the State Board to curb the malpractices of paper leak.
