In a bid to eliminate water pollution, numerous people have come forward to contribute. Several endeavours indicate that the issue might get solved if people work on it together. Another good news came into the picture when we learned about zero-emission passenger vessels being constructed in the US.
The Maid of the Mist boat, which is the only way through which people can witness the iconic Niagara Falls will soon be upgraded. It has been said that two new such passenger vessels will be introduced which will run on a high-capacity battery to become the first completely electric vessels.
The zero-emission technology will be powered by ABB, a Swiss-Swedish multinational corporation and is being constructed by Burger Boat Company.
ABB’S President of the Industrial Automation Business, Peter Terwiesch mentioned how helpful the new passenger vessels will be in a write up by, Asea Brown Boveri as he said: “Maid of the Mist’s decisive move towards e-mobility signals a new era in the future of transportation and complements ABB’s commitment to power the world without consuming the earth. Reducing emissions at Niagara Falls is not only important for the natural landmark but also proves that the technologies enabling sustainable mobility are already available today.”
The new emission-free vessels will start operating from this year itself while the old ones will be discontinued.
