Indian Accent, an eatery in New Delhi has bagged the second place among top ten restaurants in Asia. Led by world-famous chef Manish Mehrotra, it is known for showcasing innovative cuisines by complementing Indian flavours with global ingredients and techniques.
The ranking was done by travel site TripAdvisor in Asia Travellers’ Choice for the best fine dining eateries.
Nearly 400 fine dining restaurants made it to this year’s list. There were dedicated lists for Asia, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Australia, South America, South Pacific, the UK, the US and India in which Indian Accent emerged at the top.
According to Hospitality Biz India, restaurants were ranked on the basis of the quantity and quality of reviews for the food joints from all across the globe, gathered over a 12-month period.
Three other Indian restaurants that featured among the best in Asia are Chingari from Pune which was at the 15th position, Villa Maya from Thiruvananthapuram at the 18th spot and K3 in JW Marriott from New Delhi that secured the 23rd position.
In the global arena, The Black Swan at Oldstead emerged the winner followed by Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons –Great Milton, England and Maison Lameloise – Chagny, France.
The top ten restaurants in India also featured Tamra, New Delhi; The Black Sheep Bistro, Panjim; Peshawri, Mumbai; Bukhara, New Delhi; Sea Lounge, Mumbai and Villa Shanti, Pondicherry.
