The National Wildlife Week begins in Delhi this year from October 2 to October 8. The Delhi zoo has planned many activities for school children and wildlife enthusiasts in its premises.
A zoo official said that the National Wildlife Week is an annual affair at the zoo. It is a platform to create awareness about ecological conservation and animal protection. A large number of school children and wildlife enthusiasts participate in it.
The fun-filled activities of the National Wildlife Week include on-the-spot painting competition, wildlife quiz, Rangoli-making, debate competition, clay modelling, poster- making and amateur photography.
This year, the park has added the theme of the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' to the ongoing wildlife week celebrations. The official said that they will talk about the government’s 'Swachhta Abhiyan' so that the visitors and participants will be aware of the need and importance of keeping the surroundings clean.
All those interested in participating in the wildlife week can register themselves at the zoo premises on the day of the competition from 9:00 am to 9:30 am. The entry is free for children up to 12 years of age.
