The National War Memorial is a monument built near India Gate in New Delhi by the Government of India to honour the Indian Armed Forces. Now, the government has gone a step further as it plans to introduce a coffee table book that glorifies the bravery of the Indian soldiers by detailing tales of their valour in battle.
This information was conveyed by the defence forces that also said that the work on the book has already begun.
The Coffee Table Book
The Integrated Defence Staff (IDS) is putting in all their efforts to produce this book. The three services have come together and are working in tandem for the contents of the book. The book will contain short tales about the bravery of Indian soldiers and will be replete with pictures which will make it all the more interesting.
The National War Memorial
The National War Memorial is situated near India Gate and is built in honour of Indian soldiers who laid down their lives for the motherland. The names of the martyrs are inscribed on the walls of the monument. The memorial comprises a tapering stone pillar with an eternal flame known as Amar Chakra (Circle of Immortality). It also consists of a shaded gallery known as Veer Chakra (Circle of Bravery) and the Tyag Chakra (Circle of Sacrifice).
The coffee table book is a befitting tribute to our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
