The city of Mosul in Iraq is soon set to be liberated from the ISIS and its Christian and Muslim inhabitants who had fled persecution are slowly returning to their homes. Many have returned to  Mosul's Al Arabi neighborhood, where hundreds of buildings, including the town's Mar Georges monastery, were destroyed by the ISIS.

People were picking up the pieces and beginning to rebuild the city. That is when a false rumor about a Christian family being terrorized by Muslims of Al Arabi neighborhood spread. To prove the rumors wrong, the Muslim community from that neighborhood decided to clean and repair the church. 

By doing so, the Muslims were spreading the message of tolerance, peace and unity amid the most difficult of circumstances. They put up slogans like "Mosul is yours as it's ours" and "Our differences are our strength" as part of the campaign.

As two years of terrorism is about to end in Iraq, it has one of the smallest, yet oldest, Christian communities in the world. During the reign of IS, hundreds of Christian sites are said to have been destroyed, including Iraq's oldest Christian monastery.

According to Iraqi News, Mosul will be completely liberated from the IS within a week. Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi has already issued orders to prepare for celebrations in the country.
